I wired the timeout bit after a button and before an LED, and pressing the button to start the countdown is oddly satisfying. Setting the delay so the light stays on for exactly a few seconds makes my little circuits feel way more polished.
This timeout bit is way more useful than I expected—I set it to about 30 seconds, hit the button, and my little light circuit shuts off right on cue. The countdown is surprisingly accurate, and I've been using it as a bedtime shutoff for my son's homemade lamp project.
