The temperatures sensor responds to the temperature surrounding its probe. The higher the temperature it senses, the more signal it sends out.
Stuck the probe near my window and the little fan kicked on the second the afternoon sun hit it, which honestly felt like magic. The way it sends out more signal as things heat up makes it way more useful than a simple on/off switch.
I used this to turn a fan on automatically when my workshop gets too warm, and it responds the moment the probe heats up. The signal strength scaling with temperature makes it way more usable than a simple on/off switch.
